Lyrics

[ The Birdman Berdan: ]

The Ice Cream Can Get Messy
But life’s better when not stressing
Over such things
Like rushing blood
Pumping to my head
From my chest
I must confess my love
For your zest

[ Valorine Melani: ]

Mom and Dad always remark
About building bridges from the heart
I’m so glad we found each other
When I see you, butterflies flutter

[ The Birdman Berdan: ]

Reflecting on life
Overlooking the city’s lights
It’s a silent night
At the end of the day
Bring your hands to mine
Like grabbing a bouquet

[ Valorine Melani: ]

Life is a mystery
But everything will be alright
Ice cream falls from the cone
But we can always fill our cup

[ Valorine Melani: ]

The sunsets, but don’t get upset
The night is better with no regrets
Look at how far we’ve come
It’s bizarre to some
But not to ones that hum victory songs

[ The Birdman Berdan: ]

History is written by the victors and a mixture
Of love stories dripping with smitten well-wishers
Life can be mysterious
And before dreams turn to dust
Manifest the glorious

[ Valorine Melani: ]

Reflecting on life
Overlooking the city’s lights
It’s a silent night
At the end of the day
Bring your hands to mine
Like grabbing a bouquet

[ The Birdman Berdan: ]

Life is a mystery
But everything will be alright
Ice cream falls from the cone
But we can always fill our cup

[ Valorine Melani & The Birdman Berdan: ]

Look at everything
That we’ve gone through
Look at every time
Yeah, I got you
Look at every day
That felt brand-new
Look at every way
Our love is true
Look at every month
Like a blue moon
Look at every once
In a lifetime opportunity
That we’ve used to see
The grass is only green
Beneath graceful feet

[ The Birdman Berdan: ]

Reflecting on life
Overlooking the city’s lights
It’s a silent night
At the end of the day
Bring your hands to mine
Like grabbing a bouquet

[ Valorine Melani: ]

Life is a mystery
But everything will be alright
Ice cream falls from the cone
But we can always fill our cup!

[ Valorine Melani & The Birdman Berdan: ]

Ice cream, don’t you want some ice cream?
Bright gleam, in the eyes of a child
Staring into the wild side
Take a view of the bright side
Staring through the mind’s
Ice cream, don’t you want some ice cream?
Bright gleam, in the eyes of a child
Staring into the wild side
Take a view of the bright side
Staring through the mind’s
Ice cream, don’t you want some ice cream?
Bright gleam, in the eyes of a child
Staring into the wild side
Take a view of the bright side
Staring through the mind’s
Eye

‘Ice Cream’ began when Valorine gifted open-back studio monitors to Jason. From his appreciation, he expressed gratitude in a way that made the most sense, with a song. This song would eventually become ‘Ice Cream’.

First, the song was composed, and then Valorine began writing the main sentiments of ‘Ice Cream’. She fervently jotted these down on a restaurant’s napkin. Since then, they have been digitally transcribed.

The entire city is visible from here
A reflection on the whole life we’ve lived
We’ve come a long way

We can always fill our cup
Untouchable joy
Glowing out of the cup
I’m happy that I met you
By the river on the bridge

It’s a silent night
Overlooking the city
Reflecting on our entire lives
How far we’ve come
At the end of the day
Although life is a mystery
We can always get more ice cream
Fill our cups with joy

Watching sunset
Oversee the entire city
So much in front of you
Overlooking
Reflecting on our entire lives
Here I am
Holding your hand
Hand in hand
Like the bridge
Union
Realizing
Deep moment
Swim to the top
Things happen
Beautiful mystery
Things go wrong
But we can always go get ice cream
Fill our cup

These are the original sentiments, that would later become refined into the current lyrics. The song is a pretty straightforward reminder that we are the creators of our lives. It is important to maintain childlike wonder while proceeding forth with the wisdom of a sage.

It’s easy to forget our excitement for life, to lose our zest. But rather than to gain defeat, take a moment to enter the silence, and embrace the still, calm, serene waters of the subconscious. Take a break from ageing. And remember your true power.

This is the children’s story near the end of the song:

SILLY LILLY & THE BUTTERFLY THAT DIES

Once upon a time in a faraway land, there was a little girl named Lilly. Lilly’s life was full of ambiguity, struggle, and transition. She had recently moved to a new city and had to leave behind all her old friends and familiar surroundings. Everything was new to her, and she had to start from scratch.

One day, while she was exploring the city, she stumbled upon a mysterious forest. She was curious and decided to explore it. As she was walking through the forest, she came across a beautiful butterfly. The butterfly was struggling to break free from its cocoon. Lilly felt sorry for the butterfly and decided to help it.

She gently helped the butterfly break free from its cocoon. However, as soon as the butterfly was out, it fell to the ground and died. Lilly was devastated. She went to an old wise man in the village and asked him why the butterfly died, even though she had helped it.

The wise man explained, “The struggle the butterfly goes through to break free from the cocoon is necessary for strengthening its wings. Without the struggle, the butterfly’s wings will be too weak, and it won’t be able to fly.”

Lilly realized that she had been so focused on trying to make everything easy for the butterfly that she had forgotten the importance of struggle and transition. She learned an important lesson that day- that impermanence is a part of life, and it’s important to embrace it. She now understood that life is full of challenges and that it’s through these challenges that we grow and become stronger.

From that day on, Lilly started to find joy in even the most challenging of circumstances. She embraced the ambiguity of her new home, and the transition she was going through, and found a way to make new friends and create new memories. She learned that life is full of thresholds, and it’s up to us to embrace them and find joy in every moment, no matter how difficult it may seem.
