1. Mountain / parvat

Lyrics (with translations)

[ The Birdman Berdan: ]

Rising to see the mountain right in front of me
Let’s proceed, let’s go deep
Let’s take the lead
To make dreams complete
Winding & steep the mountain tries testing our being
Trust yourself, touch true wealth
Hush moods held
Beneath shells, expelled

[ Valorine Melani: ]

Yahan hai haseen
(It’s beautiful over here)
Nezarein hain yakeen
(The sights instill confidence)
Har saans kitna pak
(Every breath is pure)
Chalo manzil tak
(Let’s go to our destination)

[ Valorine Melani & The Birdman Berdan: ]

Say no more to the sorrow
Today’s glorious
Let go of tomorrow
Say no more to the sorrow

[ The Birdman Berdan: ]

Eyelids heavy; my motive’s running out of steam
Time to dig deep, past the big leap of faith in me
I raise this sleeping intrigue
I did exceed the notions running in my psyche
Finally, I’m ready
To drop this deadweight,
To unlock potential
And dictate my fate

[ Valorine Melani: ]

Kuch aur aagayi hai
(It’s just a little further)
Chalte hi jaana hai
(We need to keep going)
Pahadein chuptey nehi
(The mountains don’t hide)
Kya nazara hai
(What a beautiful sight)

[ Valorine Melani & The Birdman Berdan: ]

Say no more to the sorrow
Today’s glorious
Let go of tomorrow
Say no more to the sorrow

[ The Birdman Berdan: ]

Raise your oar and row this boat
Away from the shores of rage and doubt
Facing toward the cliffs and clouds
Tracing the steps of our best selves

[ Valorine Melani & The Birdman Berdan: ]

Let’s climb up
Let’s calm down
Let’s wise up
Let’s chill out

Let’s rise up
Get strong now
These wise words
They’re stirring sounds

[ Valorine Melani: ]

Shakti ke godh mein
(In the lap of Mother Earth)
Pooray sehat mein
(In perfect health)
Aagay ja rahay o o o
(You are going forward)
Aagay haath badao
(Put your hand forward)
Hosla aur alp pao
(You will receive courage)

[ Valorine Melani & The Birdman Berdan: ]

Trust yourself to make dreams complete.
Time to dig deep
Through the pool of feeling
Reach through the mystery

Trauma’s just a catalyst
It’s all just a battle of wits
I don’t just call the quits
This is/this/this is/this is my metamorphosis

Say no more to the sorrow
Today’s glorious
Let go of tomorrow
Say no more to the sorrow

[ The Birdman Berdan: ]

Raise your oar and row this boat
Away from the shores of rage and doubt
Facing toward the cliffs and clouds
Tracing the steps of our best selves

[ Valorine Melani & The Birdman Berdan: ]

Let’s climb up
Let’s calm down
Let’s wise up
Let’s chill out

Let’s rise up
Get strong now
These wise words
They’re stirring sounds

I know that it hurts sometimes
But it’s worth the climb
The mountain doesn’t hide
Abundance the earth provides

I know that it hurts somehow
As fallen snow hits the ground
C’mon, we can’t stop now
Our zenith’s beyond those clouds

A brief interview regarding Mountain / Parvat.

Jason Berdan (The Birdman Berdan) and Valorine Melani wrote the lyrics of Mountain / Parvat. While Valorine was grieving the loss of her mother, Kamal, Jason started working on the song. The intention was to create something to honour Kamal’s life, as well as help people get through the grieving process.

When we’re in denial, angry, sad, or whatever we’re feeling, that is what we’re creating. More of that feeling. More reasons to feel it. That’s why at the heart of Mountain / Parvat is joy. And the reminder, that even though we may feel like we’re missing something from our lives, that is more reason to enjoy the journey of manifesting all that we desire.

Do you climb mountains just to rush to the top? Or do you savour every nuanced moment of the experience? The ultimate sign of maturity is the ability to accept the things we never wanted to happen. Learning to find the balance between desire and gratitude will renovate your life.

Always remember that everything you need is here and now.
